Is It Time for New Brakes in Your Land Rover?

If you live in San Diego and own a Land Rover, you may find yourself wondering when you should have your brakes inspected or replaced.  A small squeal here or there could be alerting you to your vehicle needing service.  The best way to maintain the brakes in your Land Rover is to make sure that you have regular maintenance inspections so that you never need emergency repairs.

  • If you experience pulling in one direction when you drive your Land Rover, you should have your brakes inspected.
  • If your vehicle feels like it is jutting forward when you drive, then you could need new brakes soon!
  • A vibrating steering wheel is also an indicator of worn brakes in a Land Rover.
  • Schedule repair services for the brakes in your Land Rover if you notice grinding or squealing noises.  The sooner you get repair services, the less damage you’ll do to your brakes.
  • When your brakes make a consistent grinding sound, and it is harder for you to stop your vehicle, then you should have the brakes replaced before driving again.  This sound could mean that you are doing damage to your brakes by continuing to operate your Land Rover.
  • If you notice a strange smell when you brake, then you should have them checked by a professional mechanic at British Garage.
  • Check the miles you’ve driven since you’ve last had your brakes replaced.  If you are over 50,000 miles, bring your Land Rover in for a check-up!
  • The weather conditions and environment can also affect your brakes.

There are many ways to wear your brakes out faster than your 50,000-mile check-up.  If you have low-quality brake pads or your driving habits require you to use your brakes in town a lot, then you may even need new brakes at 25,000 miles.  If you are in doubt and think there is a problem with your brakes, schedule an inspection to make sure that your Land Rover’s brakes are in good health.
