The Bentley Hybrids: Underappreciated Gems

While Bentley is known almost exclusively for its luxurious, high performance, incredibly polished and posh vehicles, they’ve also been in recent years getting their hats into the hybrid vehicle game. Bentley has adapted two of its most storied vehicles to be hybrids so that while you’re celebrating all that Bentley has to offer, you can also be doing your part to defend the planet.

The Flying Spur Hybrid

The Flying Spur luxury saloon line has been in production since 2005 at the Crewe factory in England, but in 2019, they overhauled the design onto a new platform similar to the Continental GT, which reads much more like a Rolls-Royce design. Now, in addition to its classically powerful engine models, the hybrid model contains a 100kW electric model that can crank out 134 hp and run entirely on electric charge for 40 kilometers using its 14.1 kWh Lithium ion battery. This is backed up by a 2.9L V6 engine that can blast out an additional 349 bhp, so you don’t have to sit in the back just because you’re driving a hybrid.

The Bentayga Hybrid

For those of us who want to haul a few more passengers but still do so in style, the Bentayga has been a hybrid since day one back in 2015. Since 2020 the Bentayga Hybrid has been a plug-in hybrid that has a 443 bhp V6 engine that can make the hop from 0 to 60 in 5.2 seconds and cruise all the way up to 158 mph (247 kph). It has a beautiful front grille that reads luxury and sports a hatchback that will carry just about anything you’re inclined to put in it.

These two are amazing options for the eco-friendly luxury car purchaser, giving a balance between power and fuel efficiency that is incredibly enviable and should not be overlooked. For help with these questions and more, contact our team
